I know this feeling. I've been in areas where the internet was so unstable, I didn't bother. It's also why I won't ever leave sit-down videos completely. Live streams are great for the IRL interaction, but while sit-down videos take more time and energy (scripting, filming, editing, uploading), at least they are reliable no matter the weather or connection (once uploaded, at least).

I just filmed a short answering this, and I'll have a video coming out in the next couple of months with an in-depth look at my reading logs. 😉 Long answer short, completed books. I keep on-going stories under the "currently reading" category.

I understand. I feel that in a lot of ways too. I've only been writing during my live streams even though I set myself up to do it in other ways.

If I was in the position you were in, I definitely would probably make it more of a priority. Or if I was able to make 2-4x the amount I make from my current job often enough that I could put a sizable chunk in an account I only accessed for emergencies. There's always exceptions, I think. Just... At this moment in time, in my current condition, it's not feasible. And it definitely took a lot of pressure to start thinking that way.

Oh, yes! Especially since I can't bring myself to the mindset of "this is a job and needs to be done daily". I might consider differently once I've built up a bigger backlist and have a more consistent publishing schedule. Definitely couldn't do it as any other kind of creative though. I can't imagine doing artwork daily... Unless I was just doing artwork to create stickers... Hmmm... This brings up another point I might need to make a video about...

The truck went into the shop on Friday with the knowledge they wouldn't be able to work on it until Monday. We picked it up Monday afternoon. Love our local shop. Car repairs took longer because of finances honestly. It cost a lot more to repair.

I'm sorry you're feeling aggressive toward your writing. I hope that passes. I've never felt anything like that. The closest I've been is when the imposter syndrome sets in so deep, I'm tempted to stop writing completely because I don't want to know how much everyone else hates the stories I love. Journaling has helped me so much with that. Glad you were able to switch to that in order to get out of the downward spiral.

In the last 2 weeks I haven't even been able to join streams (yours was an "I should go say hi" pop-on) for more than about 5 minutes before I get aggravated & sink into anything else.to distract me. On the upside, not writing right now is allowing me to do other creative things, like video editing (finally finished the vids from 2022), sewing/embroidering a medieval purse that will be big enough to hold my phone/mini tarot/tiny journal (Not much progress on where I stopped this time last year, but the lining finally got hand sewn together, so next is focusing on the 2nd layer (added dimension) of embroidery !), digital journal label creation that I waited until this last weekend to churn out in 2 very deeply focused days (& anything to do with set-ups), & I'm even just looking at dancing & singing along to music as being creative. This week I've decided to try writing my "5 Friends" stuff on Friday, to see if that alliteration gets anything going in me. I've put something like that for each week day to see if it helps keep the creativity flowing.

I love seeing mundane adventures in books, like grocery shopping, because of the characters. I think that's why I like cozy fantasy so much. They remind me of slice of life webtoons, where it's just interesting people in a fantasy setting just living their best (or worst) lives, and it's a lot of fun.

I feel this so hard. When I compare what I can accomplish these days (with a shorter list of tasks; even if they tend to take longer), it's ridiculous. I could get so many more things done years ago when I was juggling school, work, and everything in between, and now it feels like I can't do anything... Brain stutters happen all the time.

It's nice to see other people using TV screens as monitors. That's what Da Hubz did. When he was working at the hotel and they were doing a remodel, they were going to throw away perfectly working TVs because they didn't all match or some other stupid reason, so he took 2 of them and uses them as his monitors.

I am not a SJM fan. I don't know what it is about her books. Probably just because of the hype around them honestly, but I can't get into them. I have an ebook copy of Throne of Glass that I've tried reading on multiple occassions, but I just... can't... I hope you love the ACOTAR books!
